Job summary

American Water Works Service Company, Inc. is seeking a Systems Operator in New Jersey to operate water treatment facilities, monitor hydraulic and chemical processes, and ensure high-quality water delivery.

You will work with computer control systems, maintain records, and support maintenance and safety procedures. The role requires knowledge of water treatment operations, compliance with TCPA/OSHA, and availability to obtain or renew NJ licenses.

Qualifications

Working knowledge of water treatment operations and distribution networks.
Familiarity with safety regulations (TCPA/OSHA) and company policies.
Ability to obtain and maintain appropriate NJ licenses and certifications.

Responsibilities

Operate water treatment facility equipment to ensure safe, reliable water quality.
Monitor and adjust hydraulic and chemical processes to meet standards.
Operate computer control systems and maintain records and reports.
Respond to inquiries and coordinate with team to resolve issues.
Perform routine maintenance and inspections of equipment and facilities.
Prepare and maintain plant documentation and test water samples as directed.
