Job summary

American Water is hiring an Operator-Maintenance Mechanic II U395 in New Jersey. The role involves performing tasks across systems operation and maintenance, including repairs to pumps, piping, lubrication, and equipment analysis.

You will work in a rotating 12-hour shift pattern and may be assigned to multiple production facilities. Required knowledge includes water treatment operations, safety regulations (TCPA/OSHA), and possession of a NJ Driver's License with progression toward T-2

Qualifications

Working knowledge of water treatment operations including hydraulic, chemical, and electrical equipment and processes.
Knowledge of safety practices and regulations including TCPA and OSHA.
Must possess and maintain a valid New Jersey Driver's License.
Must pass a qualification exam and attain T-2 License per state requirements.

Responsibilities

Perform tasks and responsibilities of Systems Operator and Operator Maintenance Mechanic I.
Assist with repairs and maintenance of equipment and facilities including pumps, piping, and lubrication.
Support production facility operations across shifts and locations as needed.
Work rotating 12-hour shifts per posted schedule with advance notice for changes.
