Job summary

Village of Tequesta seeks a skilled SCADA/OT engineer to maintain, program, and secure the water treatment plant's SCADA and automation systems. You will develop PLC logic, HMI screens, and alarms, while coordinating with IT and external vendors to ensure reliable operations.

The role requires experience with VTScada and industrial control systems, plus relevant certifications. On-site work at water facilities is expected, with after-hours support as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical field with 2+ years in industrial control systems, SCADA, PLC programming, or process controls.
• Experience with water or wastewater treatment facilities preferred.
• NIMS certification per Village policy; VTScada certification within 12–24 months.

Responsibilities

• Administers and supports SCADA/OT environments including VTScada, servers, historians, alarms, databases, and interfaces.
• Develops, tests, and deploys PLC programs, HMI screens, control logic, trends, and reports for safe, reliable operations.
• Troubleshoots SCADA/PLCs and OT equipment; maintains system performance and preventive maintenance.
• Maintains OT network architecture, security, backups, and disaster recovery procedures.
• Coordinates with IT, vendors, contractors, and project teams; provides technical review for capital projects.
