Job summary

City of Ennis seeks a supervisor to manage the water treatment plant under the Assistant Director of Public Works. You will oversee operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and lead a team of plant staff.

You will coordinate with contractors and agencies, prepare reports, and manage budgets. The role requires five years of supervisory experience in water systems, a Texas Class B license, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred and five (5) years of supervisory experience in water/water utility systems.
• Equivalent combination of experience and training qualifies.
• Valid Class C Texas driver's license and driving record.
• TCEQ Water Treatment License Class B.

Responsibilities

• Oversee plant operating efficiency; maintain records; prepare reports; suggest efficiency improvements.
• Supervise and evaluate personnel; coordinate staff training; enforce city policies and discipline.
• Supervise schedules, assignments, training, evaluations, and safety actions for plant staff.
• Conduct chemical and bacteriological analysis and review quality data for plant products.
• Lead safety meetings; ensure policy, safety, and regulatory training compliance.
• Prepare reports for TCEQ, EPA, and other agencies; manage budgets and supply requests.
• Coordinate with staff, contractors, and regulators for compliance, repairs, and expansions.
• Subject to after-hours call-outs for emergencies.
• Maintain frequent contact with employees, citizens, agencies, and other departments.
