Job summary

West Columbia, SC-based city government seeks a Maintenance Technician for the Riverside Water Treatment Plant. Under limited supervision, you will perform varied electrical and mechanical repairs to pumps, feeders, rapid-mixer, chlorinators, and other plant equipment to meet EPA and DHEC standards. The role includes preventive maintenance, procurement recommendations, and keeping service logs.

Work hours are 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., with overtime, weekends, and on-call duties.

Qualifications

• Vocational/technical schooling in electrical or mechanical maintenance.
• 3–5 years of electrical or mechanical maintenance experience.
• Valid SC Driver's License required.
• Ability to perform manual labor as needed.

Responsibilities

• Inspects, troubleshoots, and diagnoses problems with pumps and motors.
• Performs mechanical and electrical repairs on water treatment equipment.
• Schedules and conducts preventive maintenance on plant equipment.
• Makes procurement recommendations for parts and supplies.
• Estimates materials and time for repairs.
• Ensures repairs meet codes and standards.
• Maintains service logs.
