Job summary

East Bay Municipal Utility District (EBMUD) seeks a Water Treatment Operator to operate and monitor six treatment plants, log operations and test results, and coordinate maintenance activities. You will sample water, run standardized quality tests, adjust feeders, and keep equipment and facilities clean and safe.

Candidates must hold the required high school diploma, a CA SWRCB-DDW T2 certificate, and qualify for a T3 within two years.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CA SWRCB-DDW T2 certificate required; T3 within 2 years of appointment.
• Two years of water treatment/operator experience or trainee experience with certification.
• Bachelor's/Master's in related field may substitute for experience.

Responsibilities

• Log plant operations, test results, and maintenance work; prepare reports.
• Monitor and operate distribution via SCADA as needed.
• Sample water, perform standardized tests, and adjust chemical feeders.
• Maintain plant equipment and clean facilities; handle safety procedures.
• Make minor repairs and detect abnormal equipment sounds; take corrective action.
