Job summary

Golden State Water Company is seeking a Water Supply Operator III to lead operations of diverse water supply and treatment systems in California. Role includes supervising lower operators, performing advanced maintenance, and ensuring accurate dosing, flow calculations, and lab analyses.

Candidates should hold SWRCB Grade 2 certifications (treatment and distribution) or equivalent, with strong math, SCADA familiarity, and a commitment to safety and emergency response readiness.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• SWRCB Grade 2 Water Treatment Plant Operator Certificate (or applicable SWRCB certification if designated as shift operator).
• SWRCB Grade 2 Water Distribution Operator Certificate.
• Excellent math skills.
• Experience with SCADA systems.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, chemistry and biology.

Responsibilities

• Lead and participate in operation of water supply and treatment equipment (pumping systems, chemical feeders, controls).
• Train, mentor and provide direction to Water Supply Operators I and II.
• Oversee efficiency tests on pumps and related equipment.
• Perform advanced maintenance of plant equipment and facilities.
• Load and unload chemicals and perform lab analyses on water samples.
• Recordkeeping for treatment and supply operations; manage chemical inventory.
• Participate in field checks and pre-construction activities for capital projects.
• Adhere to safety standards; respond to emergencies 24/7 as needed.
