City of Enid seeks a Water Plant Operator to ensure a safe, reliable water supply through daily treatment plant operations, laboratory sampling, and SCADA control adjustments.

Requirements: High School diploma or GED, six months related experience; DEQ Class D license within 6 months and Class C within 18 months; Respirator qualification within 3 months. Must be able to respond to calls within 30 minutes and maintain accurate records. 

Formación

• High School diploma or GED, or six months related experience and/or training.
• Certificates/licenses required include DEQ Class D within 6 months and Class C within 18 months.
• Protective Respirator Equipment Qualification within 3 months.
• Knowledge of SCADA, water lab testing, and plant operations.
• Basic computer skills and ability to read safety and procedure manuals.

Responsabilidades

• Operate control mechanisms/SCADA for water plant operations and adjust as needed.
• Inspect water plant and related equipment to ensure proper operation at all times.
• Drive city vehicles to collect samples and perform laboratory analysis to monitor water quality.
• Maintain records per Oklahoma DEQ/EPA guidelines, including test results and chemical usage.
• Monitor plant pressures, flows, tank levels, and equipment; perform routine maintenance.
• Maintain plant grounds and perform custodial duties as needed.
• Check inventory and order chemicals and supplies as required.
• Provide assistance to other departments as needed.
• Confer with the public regarding inquiries in a professional manner.
