Job summary

Veolia in North America seeks a Water Treatment Operator to maintain water production and quality for public consumption. The role monitors daily demand, controls pressure, and operates SCADA systems to support a Class IV water system.

You will perform routine testing, adjust chemical feed, troubleshoot equipment, and take on-call shifts as needed. Requirements include an Idaho driver’s license and an Idaho Drinking Water Treatment license, with ability to work outdoors in varying weather.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, interpret, and communicate instructions, manuals, and plans.
• Ability to use heavy equipment and various hand, gas, electric and hydraulic tools.
• Basic knowledge of water system operations, construction, and plumbing including disinfection and corrosion control.
• Ability to troubleshoot, install, maintain, and repair mechanical, electrical, pumping and related equipment.
• Ability to distinguish colors and color coding.
• Good communication skills, both oral and written.
• Proficiency with office computing systems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine water testing and record results.
• Monitor charts, gauges, digital screens, and other operating equipment.
• Calculate and adjust chemical feed rate per lab tests or supervisor instructions.
• Perform installation, maintenance and repair of equipment and grounds; maintain good housekeeping.
• Analyze system parameters and determine when extra help is needed.
• Monitor chemical inventory levels.
• Operate water treatment plants, wells and related equipment using SCADA interfaces.
• Take direction from water quality personnel on sampling and schedules.
• Work on shift assignments and on-call duties as required.
• Follow safety, health, environmental and security policies.
