Trainee path requires the ability to obtain a Class C license within two years and a valid Florida driver’s license. The Operator track requires possession of a Class A/B/C Water Treatment Plant Operators License and a valid Florida driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Ability to obtain a Class C Water Treatment Plant Operators License within two years.
• Valid Florida Driver's License at time of hire.
• Possession of a Class A/B/C Water Treatment Plant Operators License as issued by the State of Florida for Operator level.

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of duties and monitors the treatment process by chemical, physical and visual analysis and adjusts operating parameters accordingly under supervision.
• Participates in periodic plant operation integrity and safety tests to verify proper operation of plant process.
• Routes flow of water at treatment plant and maintains records of flow, tank levels, chemical feed rates, etc.
• Collects samples to evaluate treatment processes and records data from meters and gauges.
• Briefs the operators, lead operator and water operations manager on activities performed or situations encountered during shift operation.
• Maintains inventory of chemical usages and dosages and assists in establishing Standard Operating Procedures.
• Prepares written and verbal reports.
• Performs grounds maintenance and housekeeping duties as directed and minor preventative maintenance.
