Job summary

Aqua, an Essential Utilities company, is seeking an Operator I for the Pickering Creek/Upper Merion/Ingrams Mill Treatment Plant. This role involves 12-hour shifts and may require reporting to multiple sites to ensure continuous plant operation.

You will operate and maintain plant equipment, perform tests, and adjust chemical doses while adhering to Hazmat and safety rules. CDL involvement may be required and a Waterworks Class A license must be pursued within the specified period.

Qualifications

• Entry level requires an Associate’s Degree, two years in trade school, or two years of waterworks experience.
• Employee must obtain Waterworks Operator Class A license within 3 years.
• Position requires lifting up to 75 pounds and the ability to perform file/record keeping and mechanical tasks.
• Must possess a valid US driver’s license; CDL may be required within the required time frame.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain water treatment plant equipment and systems.
• Perform routine testing and adjust chemical doses for proper treatment.
• Follow Hazmat safety rules, PPE protocols and company safety requirements.
• Report to designated Pickering/Upper Merion/Ingrams Mill sites as needed.
