Job summary

Aqua America, Inc. is seeking an Operator I to support the Pickering Creek, Upper Merion and Ingrams Mill water treatment facilities. The role requires shift work and potential relocation between sites to cover operations as needed.

Qualified candidates will have an Associate degree or equivalent, and 2 years in waterworks or related fields, with strong mechanical and math skills for dosing and flow calculations. CDL/ HazMat may be required and licensing timelines apply.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or 2 years trade school, or similar education.
• Two years' experience in waterworks or similar field.
• Must be able to lift 75 pounds.
• Solid mechanical skills for repair of plant equipment.
• Must obtain Waterworks Class A license within 3 years.
• CDL and HazMat endorsement required within specified period.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain water treatment equipment at Pickering, Ingrams Mill, and Upper Merion plants.
• Calculate chemical doses based on flow rates to ensure proper treatment.
• Work 12-hour shifts and be available for overtime.
• Follow Aqua safety rules and PPE requirements.
