Job summary

Aqua, an Essential Utilities company, is seeking a Plant Operator to support water treatment facilities across our footprint. The role involves shift work, operating pumps and instruments, and ensuring proper chemical dosing for treatment processes.

Candidates must pursue a Waterworks Class A license within three years, have an associate degree or two years of related education, and hold a CDL Class C with HM endorsement. Overtime may be required to sustain operations.

Qualifications

• It must be understood that the person awarded the position must accept. Position requires shift work and requires employee moving to permanent shift position as Plant openings occur.
• Waterworks license requirements will require passing written test; actual license after experience.
• Entry level to have associate degree or 2 years trade school or 2 years waterworks field experience.
• Position requires labor, including lifting up to 75 pounds.
• Must meet Aqua safety and PPE requirements for hazardous chemicals.
• Must be able to perform math calculations for chemical dosing and flow rates.
• Must be available for overtime to maintain continuous plant operations.
• CDL Class C with Hazardous Materials endorsement within required time; valid US driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor water treatment and related plant equipment to ensure reliable service.
• Perform calculations to determine chemical doses based on flow rates and treatment needs.
• Maintain safety standards and PPE procedures, including Hazmat requirements.
• Perform routine maintenance on pumps, instruments, and chemical feed equipment.
• Be prepared for overtime to keep plant operations running smoothly.
