Job summary

City of Northglenn, CO is seeking a dedicated Utility Plant Operator for our Water Treatment Facility. You will operate a 14-million-gallon-per-day plant, monitor SCADA systems, collect samples, and adjust chemical dosages to ensure regulatory compliance.

The role requires a Colorado CDL, a CWP certification or the ability to obtain within six months, and First Aid/CPR. Ongoing training and a 24/7 facility environment are part of this position.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• A valid Colorado driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
• A Colorado Certified Water Professional (CWP) Water Treatment Operator certification at the time of hire or the ability to obtain certification within six months of employment.
• First Aid and CPR certification or the ability to obtain both within six months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor a 14-million-gallon-per-day conventional water treatment facility.
• Monitor plant conditions through SCADA, instrumentation, and laboratory testing.
• Collect and analyze raw, settled, filtered, and finished-water samples.
• Operate pumps, valves, filters, chemical feeders, and other treatment equipment.
• Adjust chemical dosages, plant flow rates, and process equipment to maintain water quality and regulatory compliance.
• Maintain accurate operating records and shift logs; respond to alarms and abnormal conditions.
• Communicate plant conditions and maintenance needs during shift transitions.
