Job summary

The City of Temple is seeking a dedicated Water Treatment Operator to operate, monitor, and troubleshoot the water supply, treatment plant, distribution system and storage facilities. This 24-hour facility requires flexibility, including weekends and holidays, under supervision of a lead operator or supervisor.

Responsibilities include operating SCADA, adjusting chemicals, performing lab duties, maintaining equipment, and assisting with inspections and maintenance projects.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Class B Surface Water certification from TCEQ.

Responsibilities

• Operates and monitors treatment process using SCADA; adjusts chemicals and treatment equipment per permits.
• Maintains knowledge and skills for essential operations of the water treatment plant and facilities.
• Trains Operator I/II and covers shifts as needed.
• Solves operating problems and performs laboratory duties, maintains instruments, and collects samples.
• Meets daily with supervisor and reports plant performance; updates logs and reports.
• Attends TWUA trainings and maintains certifications; follows safety guidelines.
