Job summary

City of Kings Mountain seeks a Water Treatment Plant Operator to ensure safe, regulatory-compliant potable water production. You will operate pumps, SCADA, run water-quality tests, log data, and respond to alarms. Shift work, including nights and weekends, may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in water treatment operations desirable but not required.
• Specialized training in water treatment operations is desirable.
• On-the-job training available for candidates without water treatment experience.

Responsibilities

• Operates pumps, motors, filters, and other treatment equipment.
• Monitors SCADA and records data, laboratory results, and chemical usage.
• Collects water samples and performs routine laboratory tests.
• Maintains records and prepares required reports.
• Responds to alarms, emergencies, and operational issues.
