Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Two or more years of experience in water treatment plant operations.
• Knowledge of drinking water regulations and compliance requirements.
• Ability to document operations and complete regulatory reports accurately.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable MVR.
• Experience in a water treatment environment.
• Ability to work independently and with attention to detail.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and read/write data daily.
• Must be available to work weekends, overtime and on-call as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operates and maintains the water distribution system, servicing pumps, motors, valves, generators, and equipment.
• Maintains pump stations.
• Performs sample collection, preparation, and laboratory testing.
• Maintains records, performs data entry, and provides detailed reporting.
• Ensures completion of work assignments within deadlines and in compliance with safety regulations.
• Analyzes pump equipment, troubleshoots malfunctions, and monitors water operations.
• Performs preventive maintenance and minor repairs of equipment and infrastructure.
• Performs facility grounds maintenance including cleaning equipment and tanks.
• Performs general landscape maintenance including mowing, trimming, and cleanup.
• Performs other related duties as directed.

Education

High school diploma or GED

NC Water Treatment Plant Operator Certification (Class B Surface) — preferred
