Job summary

Forsyth County Government in Cumming, GA seeks a full-time Maintenance Technician for the Water Department-Maintenance to perform preventive maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical and communications equipment at water and wastewater pump stations, lift stations, and water tanks.

Responsibilities include inspecting pumps and valves, assisting licensed electricians, maintaining electrical systems, managing parts inventory, completing work orders, and staying on-call for emergency tasks.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent with one year of maintenance/repair experience at water/wastewater facilities.
  • Must possess water distribution certification within one year of hire.
  • Must possess wastewater collection certification and a CDL within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in preventive maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical and communication equipment at facilities.
  • Maintains and repairs electrical systems; assists licensed electricians and contractors with high voltage work.
  • Inspects and repairs pumps, chemical feeders, chlorinators, fans, gear boxes and other equipment; performs preventive maintenance.
