Job summary

American States Utility Services, Inc. seeks a Capital Project Coordinator to manage water and wastewater projects for military bases. The role supports the Capital Project Supervisor, ensuring plans comply with standards and coordinating with DPW and other agencies.

Responsibilities include cost estimates, schedules, and reporting, with emphasis on OSHA safety and regulatory compliance. A civil engineering background and strong communication are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field or five years in civil design/construction.
• Five years’ experience in water distribution or wastewater design/installation.
• Knowledge of construction management, policies, requirements, and regs.
• Ability to train other Capital Project staff.
• Proficient with office equipment and software (MS Office, Adobe).
• Ability to read water/wastewater plans and review specs.
• English speaking/writing proficiency required.

Responsibilities

• Perform varied assignments under established procedures with minimal supervision.
• Assist Capital Project Supervisor in master plan preparations.
• Prepare cost quote estimates for base construction projects.
• Gather financial data and assist in schedules for proposals.
• Assist with month-end closing and project reporting.
• Review designs to meet company requirements and standards.
• Coordinate with DPW and agencies for installation approvals.
• Ensure construction follows approved plans, specs, and lists.
• Identify process improvements to increase efficiency.
• Prepare and present periodic progress reports.
