Job summary

City of New York's DEP BEDC seeks an Assistant Civil Engineer in Valhalla, NY to support the Water System Capital Program. You will assist in supervising water and wastewater projects within the watershed and help ensure design and construction meet deadlines and quality standards.

Under supervision you will review contract documents, coordinate field investigations, monitor permits, and participate in safety and environmental compliance training.

Qualifications

• A baccalaureate degree in civil engineering plus one year of full-time civil engineering experience.
• Or a Bachelor's degree with a Master's degree in civil engineering.

Responsibilities

• Assist in supervising water and wastewater system projects within the watershed.
• Plan, coordinate and direct the design and construction of projects in the watershed.
• Monitor permit requirements and assist in resolving project issues.
• Conduct reliable field condition surveys and prepare accurate reports.
• Review contract documents and regulations to identify deficiencies.
