Job summary

City of New York seeks an Environmental Engineer Level 1 for the BEDC to manage major water and wastewater capital projects. You will report to project leadership and oversee design, construction, and contract administration within NYC's watershed and city facilities.

The role requires a NYS PE license and 4+ years of environmental engineering experience, with strong project management and communication skills. NYC residency not required for this position.

Qualifications

• Valid NYS Professional Engineer license with 4 years of environmental engineering experience.
• Master's degree in environmental engineering may substitute for 1 year of experience.
• Ability to lead complex environmental projects and coordinate diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage environmental engineering projects from conception to completion.
• Coordinate with agency bureaus, other city agencies, and stakeholders.
• Ensure schedules, budgets, and scope align with contract requirements.
• Monitor safety, quality, and regulatory compliance throughout project lifecycle.
