New York City Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) seeks an Environmental Engineer 3 (Design Lead) in the BEDC IHD Process Mechanical Section, Lefrak Office, Queens, NY. You will lead design for large capital projects, develop drawings and specs, and ensure performance and safety standards are met.

You will mentor junior engineers, coordinate across disciplines, and may perform construction-phase design support. A NY PE license and strong HVAC/plumbing knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• Valid New York State Professional Engineer license and four years of full-time environmental engineering experience.
• Master's degree in environmental engineering is accepted as equivalent to one year of experience.

Responsabilités

• Lead the design and delivery of capital projects through the design phase with engineering documents for process mechanical equipment.
• Oversee construction-phase design support, including drawings, specs, and calculations.
• Mentor and supervise junior engineers, act as design lead on projects, and review complex designs for conformance with standards.
• Travel to job sites for investigations, testing, and meetings with stakeholders.
