Job summary

The NYC Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) seeks an Administrative Engineer NM-1 to join the Bureau of Water Supply Capital Programs Management as a Senior Project Engineer in Valhalla, NY. You will support planning, design, and construction for major capital projects and coordinate with the Deputy Director, Chief of Construction Management, and Planning & Design leadership.

Qualifications

• A valid New York State License as a Professional Engineer.
• Six (6) years of full-time satisfactory experience in chemical engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering, environmental engineering, mechanical engineering, or plan examining work, at least two (2) years of which must have been in an executive, managerial, or administrative capacity.

Responsibilities

• Review consultant submissions to ensure alignment with assignment needs.
• Track progress, schedule, and budget across projects within portfolio.
• Notify supervisors of adverse conditions.
• Schedule, prepare for, and lead meetings onsite and virtually.
• Review and approve consultant invoices.
• Maintain digital contract files and records of job history and progress.
• Investigate issues impacting scope, schedule, or budget and advise agency.
• Work with contract administrator on RFPs and contracts.
• Assist Deputy Director with information for capital planning.
