Job summary

Golden State Water Company in Santa Maria, CA is seeking a Water Supply Operator I/II to operate and monitor water supply and treatment equipment, conduct basic lab analyses, and participate in 24/7 emergency response.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, relevant SWRCB certifications or a path to certification, and strong communication and organizational skills. Candidates must reside within 25 miles of the service area and be able to work varied hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• SWRCB Distribution Operator 1 certification required if no T1 certificate.
• SWRCB Water Treatment Plant Operator 1 certification preferred or to be obtained within 18 months.
• SWRCB Grade 1/2 certifications for distribution and treatment preferred or required for II level.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Valid California driver license.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor water supply and treatment equipment and systems.
• Perform basic laboratory analyses on water samples.
• Respond to emergencies and provide after-hours support as needed.
• Assist with maintenance of plant equipment and facilities.
• Ensure safety standards and proper chemical handling.
