Job summary

Gwinnett County in Georgia is seeking an Engineer to support the Water, Sewer, and Stormwater Plan Review Section within the Development Division of Planning and Development. You will review development plans for regulatory compliance and coordinate with design professionals.

The Engineer II and III roles require increasing experience and may lead project reviews; the Engineer Ill may supervise staff and act as back-up to the manager, while performing other duties as needed.

Responsibilities

• Review development plans for compliance with water, sewer, and stormwater regulations.
• Communicate plan review matters with design professionals and internal staff.
• Provide technical assistance to County staff, outside contractors, and the general public regarding engineering issues.
• Review of reports, zoning conditions, recorded plats, GIS maps, and easements related to development projects.
• Research, investigation, and evaluation of complaints and inquiries received by the public or management regarding water, sewer, or stormwater issues.
• Maintain records associated with plan review.
• Engineer II and Ill responsibilities include performing more experienced reviews and supporting larger, more complex projects.
• The Engineer Ill position may serve as lead worker, supervise staff, and back-up to the manager as needed, and perform other duties of a similar nature.
