Job summary

City of Shawnee is seeking a Utility Maintenance Worker I-II to support Operations in the Water and/or Sewer Utility Systems. The role involves manual labor, basic equipment operation, and adherence to safety protocols under general supervision.

Required qualifications include a High School diploma or equivalent, 1 year of related experience, and certifications: ODEQ Class D Water/Wastewater and CDL Class B within specified timeframes.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• One year of progressive work experience preferred.
• Must obtain ODEQ Class D Water/Wastewater Certificate within one year of employment.
• Must obtain CDL Class B License within 6 months of employment.
• Must follow instructions and work with others.
• Position is safety-sensitive and subject to drug testing.

Responsibilities

• Perform manual and semi-skilled tasks in Water and/or Sewer Utility systems.
• Assist in repair of water and sewer line breaks.
• Maintain valves, locate mappings, and assist in valve/water line mapping.
• Relieve sewer line stoppages and operate hydro-flusher when needed.
• Prepare daily logs of activities and work under safety procedures.
