Job summary

Harford County is seeking an engineer to plan, design, and construct major water and sewer projects under supervision. You will prepare specifications and contracts and may supervise engineering projects.

The role involves reviewing designs, preparing cost estimates, and maintaining GIS-based hydraulic models, with field responsibilities and the potential to lead complex projects. A BS in Civil Engineering is required and registration as an Engineer-in-Training is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field with civil engineering coursework.
• Engineer-In-Training registration preferred.
• Valid Class C driver's license with up to 3 points; must have license.

Responsibilities

• Engage in planning, design, and construction of water and sewer mains, plants, and pump stations.
• Train new personnel in planning, design, and management of water and sewer systems.
• Review reports and designs to comply with County specifications and objectives.
• Prepare cost estimates and specifications for water and sewer projects.
• Prepare reports, designs, and construction plans for water and sewer projects.
• Perform and review cost-benefit analyses for project alternatives.
• Maintain GIS-based hydraulic models and databases for studies and reports.
• Coordinate with maintenance for tests and inspections; act as project manager on complex projects.
