Job summary

Baltimore County in Towson is seeking an experienced project engineer for the Sewer Design section. You will manage multiple major capital improvement projects and oversee departmental engineering programs, coordinating with outside agencies and stakeholders.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering, an Engineer in Training certification (or licensure), and four years of current field or office engineering experience. General supervision applies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • Engineer in Training certification with four years' current field or office engineering experience.
  • Proof of licenses, certifications and education must be submitted with each application.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as project engineer for various engineering projects, including sewer and water design sections with a specialization in pumping stations and force mains.
  • Supervises or leads professional and subprofessional personnel.
  • Resolves design problems, prepares and reviews correspondence relating to projects, and coordinates projects with outside agencies.
  • Reviews and approves plans and specifications for sanitary sewer and water facilities and systems.
  • Operates CAD and GIS tools for capital project development and analysis.
  • Develops and runs asset management for sewer and water facilities; coordinates with County and outside agencies.
