Job summary

The City of Aberdeen seeks an experienced Maintenance Foreman to lead a crew in the Maintenance Shop at Aberdeen Proving Ground. You will supervise maintenance technicians, schedule tasks, and ensure timely, safe completion of water and sewer utility work.

Required are a Class B CDL, MDE certifications, and a minimum of three years in utilities maintenance with strong leadership, safety focus, and proficiency in GIS and maintenance software. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

MDE Collection 2 and Distribution 1 certifications.
High school diploma or equivalent; technical training a plus.
Minimum 3 years in maintenance/repair in utilities, asphalt, and concrete.
Proven leadership and supervisory skills.
Strong knowledge of Water and Sewer Utility systems.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in computer applications, GIS, maintenance software, MS Office.
Valid CDL required.

Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate the work of maintenance crews.
Inspect and maintain equipment, machinery, and facilities.
Order and maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment.
Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
Train and mentor maintenance staff.
Communicate with management and other departments to coordinate maintenance activities.
Prepare and maintain maintenance records and reports.
Operates light and medium-sized construction and power equipment.
