Job summary

The City of Rock Hill is seeking a full-time Water & Sewer maintenance worker at the Operations Center in Rock Hill, SC. You will assist in maintaining water systems, operate medium to heavy equipment, and respond to service outages.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, six months of general labor experience, CDL and DOT medical card, and the ability to obtain Water Distribution Operator certification. On-site work with safety training provided.

Qualifications

• Requires a High School diploma or GED.
• Six months in general labor work with tools/equipment for water/sewer maintenance or related experience.
• Some knowledge of pipefitting and plumbing is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Assists in maintaining water system and equipment to optimize performance.
• Operates medium to heavy trucks and mechanized equipment; may require forklift certification.
• Repairs leaks and maintains valves, hydrants, and distribution equipment.
• Responds to emergencies and assists customers; adheres to safety policies and regulations.
