Job summary

The City of Rock Hill is seeking a dedicated laborer to join the Water & Sewer crew in Rock Hill, SC. The role includes assisting in maintenance, operating trucks and equipment, and performing repairs under close supervision.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, six months general labor experience, and a valid Class A CDL with DOT Medical Card or ability to obtain after Intro Period. Safety training will be provided.

Qualifications

• Requires High School graduation or GED; six months general labor with tools/maintenance experience.
• Valid Class A CDL and DOT Medical Card required or ability to obtain after Intro Period.
• Knowledge of safety practices and equipment; able to follow procedures and work under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Assists in maintaining sewer system and equipment to optimize performance.
• Operates medium to heavy trucks and mechanized equipment; obtain forklift certification as needed.
• Repairs leaks and maintains wastewater system components and appurtenances.
• Responds to emergency facility/field situations and assists during events.
• Meets customers and assists in resolving service-related issues.
• Ensures compliance with policies, safety standards, and regulations.
