Job summary

The City of Rock Hill is seeking a general laborer for the Water & Sewer Department. You will assist in maintaining water systems, operate trucks and machinery, and support emergency response efforts.

Must have a High School diploma or GED, and a valid Class A CDL with DOT medical card. Forklift certification and ability to work under supervisor guidance are essential. This is a hands-on role in a local government utility setting.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Six months of general labor work or related experience is preferred.
• Valid Class A CDL and DOT medical card required, or ability to obtain during Intro Period.
• Forklift certification and ability to operate heavy equipment are essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining water system and equipment for reliability.
• Operate medium to heavy duty trucks and mechanized equipment.
• Respond to emergencies and assist during events.
• Meet with customers and help resolve service issues.
• Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Lead and train crew members and coordinate work tasks.
