Job summary

The City of Laredo, TX, seeks a professional civil engineer to support water and sewer infrastructure projects. The role involves developing and reviewing engineering standards, and providing customer service to property owners while guiding improvements and pipeline systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is required.
• Experience in water and sewer infrastructure is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Designs and reviews engineering design and standards and oversees construction activity within the department.
• Provides customer service and coordination between consultants, engineers, staff, and other departments.
• Oversees development of water and sewer improvements for new subdivisions; responds to complaints and inquiries.
• Provides updates on number of connections to the water system; compares data with regulatory requirements.
• Assists with capital improvement projects and TxDOT; provides technical advice as needed.
• Coordinates with other utility departments to identify conflicts with existing or proposed infrastructure.
• Submits Council Communication agendas.
• Will be required to drive a City vehicle for City business use.
