Job summary

CDM Smith in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a Civil/Environmental/Chemical Engineer to design water and wastewater facilities, pipelines, pump stations and related systems under light supervision.

You will review designs for regulatory compliance, perform site studies, and contribute to technical papers while collaborating with project teams to deliver world-class solutions. Domestic travel up to 10% may be required; a Bachelor\'s degree and 3 years of related experience are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
• 3 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
• The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Under light supervision, designs water/wastewater facilities, pipelines, pump stations, remediation sites, and solid waste facilities.
• Engineering designs to meet client project requirements.
• Reviews draft designs and reports for compliance with federal, state and local regulations.
• Ensures that firm policies and practices are followed on all designs.
• Performs site reviews and studies to ensure designs match location specifications.
• Updates design requirements as necessary.
• Performs water quality analyses and modeling.
• Contributes to firm's TKM by developing technical design documentation of new or special case designs.
• Submits technical papers and designs for publishing to technical journals.
• Attends conferences, symposia, etc.
• To improve the visibility of the firm's products and services in collaboration with applicable sales staff.
• Performs Other Duties As Required.
• Provides technical guidance and training to more junior staff.
• Reviews the work of more junior staff.
