Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a civil/environmental/chemical engineer to design water and wastewater facilities, pipelines and related systems. You will translate client needs into compliant, buildable solutions and contribute to proposals with sales staff.

The role requires a PE license, a bachelor’s degree in a related field, and at least 7 years of experience. Domestic/international travel may be required; mentorship and junior staff development are key aspects of this role.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
Professional engineering (PE) license.
7 years of related experience.
Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

With general direction, creates water and waste water treatment facilities, water and sewer systems, pipelines, pump stations, remediation sites, solid waste facilities, etc.
Engineering designs to meet client project requirements.
Reviews draft designs and reports for compliance with federal, state and local regulations and signs off on completed designs.
Provides technical guidance and training to more junior staff.
Mentors more junior staff and develops them for future growth within the discipline and firm.
