Job summary

Milton Hershey School is seeking a year-round part-time Water Safety Instructor to work at its three indoor pools and outdoor aquatic center. In this role you will plan and deliver water safety and swimming instruction to PK–12 students under the Aquatics Manager, supporting PE classes and enforcing pool rules.

The position offers a $23.25 hourly rate with benefits for part-time staff, including retirement savings, employee assistance, free lunches when on duty, and Hershey area discounts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Current American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certification.
• Current American Red Cross Lifeguarding certification or ability to obtain within three months of hire.
• Current First Aid and CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers certification.
• Ability to communicate effectively and build positive relationships with students and adults from diverse backgrounds.
• Demonstrated professionalism, attentiveness, instructional proficiency, active supervision, customer service, and leadership.
• Demonstrated integrity and ability to serve as a positive role model for students.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver water safety instruction.
• Support Physical Education classes under PE teachers.
• Monitor pool areas and enforce safety policies and operating standards.
• Address safety concerns as they arise.
