Job summary

Milton Hershey School seeks a year-round part-time Water Safety Instructor to teach swimming and water safety at three indoor pools and the outdoor aquatic center.

The WSI will plan and deliver instruction, support PE classes, monitor pool areas, and enforce all safety and operating standards under the Aquatics Manager. Certification requirements include WSI, Lifeguarding, First Aid, and CPR/AED.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certification.
• Current American Red Cross Lifeguarding certification or ability to obtain within three months.
• Current First Aid and CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers certification.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students and adults from diverse backgrounds.
• Demonstrated professionalism and active supervision in a school setting.

Responsibilities

• delivers instruction and supports PE classes under the direction of PE teachers.
• Monitors pool areas and enforces pool rules and operating standards.
• Addresses safety concerns and communicates with students and staff.
• Works under supervision of the Aquatics Manager across both indoor pools and outdoor center.
