McMillen, Inc. seeks a Structural Project Engineer with 5–10 years of experience focused on water resource projects. The role covers dams, hydropower, fish passage, pump stations, and related civil infrastructure, with travel up to 15%.

The candidate will engage in FEAs, CAD drawings, and design documentation, while mentoring staff and contributing to a broad portfolio across North America.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering from an accredited University.
• Master's degree in Structural Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience as a Structural Engineer.
• P.E. or P.Eng. licensure a plus.
• Experience with water resource infrastructure including fishery related projects, hydropower, dams, water conveyance, storm water networks, heavy grading, water treatment, spillways, and pump stations.
• Experience with FEA modeling software for linear and non-linear structural analysis (ABAQUS or ANSYS/LS-DYNA appreciated).
• Expertise in seismic loads analysis including various methods.
• Proficiency with structural design standards (ASCE7, ACI 318 and 350, AISC 360 and 341).
• Familiarity with Federal Agency codes (FERC, USACE, USBR).
• Travel up to 15% of time to project sites and client locations.

Responsabilités

• Prepare Design Documentation Reports and technical memorandums.
• Evaluate and apply advanced structural design techniques.
• Perform structural computations by hand and with design software.
• Develop project details and drawings (hand drafting/CAD).
• Edit project specifications and assist with Project Manual.
• Support construction phase with submittals, RFIs, site inspections.
• Develop FEA models and present results to clients.
• Evaluate planning, design, and construction support services.
• Analyze field data and existing conditions to guide design criteria.
• Mentor other engineering staff.
