Job summary

CP Engineers is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to join our Water Resources practice. You will design and oversee water/wastewater facilities, manage feasibility studies, prepare technical deliverables, and coordinate regulatory permitting across NJDEP/EPA requirements.

The role includes mentoring staff and integrating sustainable design practices. Ideal candidates bring 6+ years in water resources, a PE or progress toward it, and strong AutoCAD/report writing skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
• 6+ years of experience in water resources engineering.
• PE License or on track to obtain.
• Strong knowledge of NJDEP regulations, EPA, CWA, SDWA.
• Experience with AutoCAD and technical report writing.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and technical writing skills.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Design & Engineering: Plan and design water and wastewater facilities and distribution systems per standards.
• Feasibility studies for water resources projects following EPA and NJDEP guidelines.
• Prepare calculations, reports, specifications, and cost estimates per regulations.
• Site investigations to support design and construction in compliance with standards.
• Lead regulatory permitting efforts and ensure compliance with requirements.
• Mentor junior staff and collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams.
• Incorporate energy and water efficiency in designs.
