Job summary

GEI Consultants, Inc. is expanding its Sacramento Office and seeks a dedicated professional in water resources planning and climate change adaptation. The role focuses on hydrology, infrastructure resilience, and data-centric planning applications within GEI's climate services group.

The candidate will lead tasks, prepare comprehensive planning documents, and support grant opportunities. A BS in a related field is required with 0–5 years of experience; MS preferred and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering, Environmental Science or water resources field is required; MS desirable.
• EIT or professional registration desirable.
• 0–5 years in water resources planning; familiarity with engineering design processes.
• Excellent technical report writing and communication skills.
• GIS experience strongly preferred; CAD, MS Office, MS Project, PowerPoint skills desired.

Responsibilities

• Lead project tasks with a team of engineers and flood management professionals.
• Prepare water resources planning documents (Groundwater Sustainability Plans, Flood Protection Plans, etc.).
• Support grant funding opportunities (USBR, DWR).
• Interpret and synthesize complex water resources modeling results.
• Perform technical analysis for flood systems, water supply, and demand projections.
• Collaborate with structural engineers and surveyors for design coherence.
• Assist in proposals and presentations; support project managers with budgets and communications.
