Tectonic Engineering in Forest Hills, NY seeks an experienced, full-time Office Engineer to support its Water Resources Group on NYCDEP water and wastewater infrastructure projects across the NYC metro area. The role emphasizes documentation, scheduling, and coordination.

Candidates should have a BS in Civil Engineering or related field and at least 5 years of construction experience, preferably as an Office Engineer on infrastructure projects; strong reading of drawings, contracts knowledge,

Qualifications

• BS degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• At least 5 years of progressive construction experience; office engineer on infra projects preferred.
• Ability to read/interpret drawings and specifications and identify discrepancies.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all required documentation from contractors aligns with contract requirements and project specs.
• Prepare and maintain project status and progress reports for timely stakeholder updates.
• Coordinate and track project plans, drawings, and revisions.
• Verify Change Order and Time & Material documentation in Daily Inspector’s Reports.
• Prepare/review change orders for accuracy and contract compliance.
• Attend construction progress meetings and prepare minutes and monthly reports.
• Support oversight of sub-consultants with strong organization and communication.
• Assist the Resident Engineer in monitoring schedules and delays.
