Job summary

Tectonic Engineering Consultants, Geologists & Land Surveyors, DPC is seeking an experienced Resident Engineer (Water Resources) to support NYCDEP water and wastewater infrastructure projects across the Hudson Valley. The role requires leading field teams, reviewing schedules, and ensuring contract compliance.

Ideal candidates hold a NY PE license with 10+ years in heavy civil construction, strong communication skills, and proficiency in engineering software.

Qualifications

• Valid Professional Engineering License in New York.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in construction management, including heavy civil and infrastructure projects.
• Experience as Resident Engineer managing heavy infrastructure projects; NYCDEP procedures preferred.
• Proficiency with E-Builder, Bluebeam, MS Office, estimating and scheduling software.
• Ability to read and interpret written specifications, plans, and construction documents.
• Strong communication with clients, supervisors, and inspectors regarding specifications and tests.
• Valid driver's license and personal vehicle preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise construction activities from NTP to project close-out, ensuring schedule adherence and compliance with contract documents.
• Oversee field construction within project limits to confirm code and contract compliance.
• Lead field inspection staff and coordinate all phases of construction inspection.
• Prepare and certify contractor pay applications with supporting documentation.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, client representatives, and city officials to communicate changes and track quantity adjustments.
• Ensure safety program compliance and address unsafe practices.
