Job summary

DOWL is seeking a Water Resources Intern to assist with a variety of civil engineering projects, focusing on hydrology, hydraulics, and hydraulic structures. You will gain hands‑on experience using GIS tools and water‑resources software (HY-8, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS) while receiving one‑on‑one mentorship.

Duties include field investigations, technical reporting, plan development, and supporting other engineering discipline groups. Some field work and construction administration support may be required.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, preferably with water focus.
• Strong willingness to learn and assist in hydrology and hydraulics analyses.
• Familiarity with GIS and hydraulic software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with field investigations, analysis, and technical report writing.
• Create plan packages and support design teams across disciplines.
• Perform hydrologic and hydraulic calculations using HEC‑HMS, HEC‑RAS, and HY‑8.
• Support other engineering groups and conduct field work as needed.
