Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in Atlanta, GA is seeking a Water Resources Engineering Intern to support transportation and drainage design projects. You will assist with developing and updating drawings using CAD software, and perform hydrologic and hydraulic calculations under supervision.

This entry-level internship emphasizes hands-on learning, mentorship, and exposure to client deliverables, including technical memos and construction plans.

Qualifications

• EXPERIENCE: No experience is required if accepted into an Associate's or Bachelor's degree program in a Civil or Environmental Engineering field.
• EDUCATION: Must have completed 60 hours towards a civil or environmental engineering degree from an ABET accredited program by the start of Summer 2027.
• SPECIAL SKILLS: Basic computer skills to enter data into spreadsheets or databases. Math skills to perform simple calculations; willingness to learn. Experience with MicroStation (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Assist with the development and updating of engineering drawings and layouts using CAD software to support transportation and drainage design projects.
• Assist with performing hydrologic, hydraulic, and other engineering calculations using established procedures and software tools.
• Assist with preparation of technical memoranda, reports, quantity calculations, and supporting project documentation.
• Assist in the production and quality control review of construction plans, specifications, and other deliverables for client submittals.
