Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Water Resources Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 in our Denver, CO office. You will assist project engineers with hydraulic and hydrologic analyses, design development, and technical tasks while gaining hands-on experience in water resources engineering.

This internship emphasizes data collection, modeling, and engineering evaluations, along with communicating design concepts through drawings and reports.

Qualifications

  • No experience required for students in an ABET accredited program
  • Must have completed 60 hours toward a civil or environmental engineering degree by Summer 2027
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation preferred

Job Description Overview

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Water Resources Engineering Intern – Summer 2027 to join our Denver, CO office. Your role Assist project engineers with water resources analyses, design development, and technical tasks while gaining hands‑on experience in hydraulic and hydrologic engineering. Support the delivery of water resources projects by contributing to data collection, modeling, calculations, and engineering evaluations. Help communicate design concepts and technical recommendations through engineering drawings, exhibits, reports, and construction documents. Participate in the preparation and organization of project deliverables, including design data, plan sets, specifications, and supporting documentation. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and learn industry standards, engineering practices, and project delivery processes. Develop technical and professional skills through mentorship, training, and exposure to a variety of water resources and infrastructure projects.

About you

Experience: No experience is generally required if accepted into an Associate's or Bachelor's degree program in a related technical field.

Education: Must have completed 60 hours towards a civil or environmental engineering degree from an ABET accredited program by the start of the internship (Summer 2027).

Special Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation (preferred).

Compensation

Expected compensation range is between $25 - $31 hourly depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
