Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking an Aviation Engineering Intern – Summer 2027 to join our Houston, TX office. Participate in focused training, team meetings and present notes or results with coaching to develop your skillset.

Collaborating with experienced engineers on airport projects, you will assist in producing drawings for runways, taxiways, aprons and related infrastructure, and conduct site observations and regulatory research as required.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in an ABET-accredited civil engineering program.
• Must have completed 60 hours toward a civil engineering degree by internship start.
• Basic math and analytical skills; willingness to learn new software.

Responsibilities

• Assist in producing engineering drawings for airport and related civil projects.
• Support runways, taxiways, aprons, roadways and parking facilities work.
• Perform site condition research and review regulatory specifications.
• Support field observations of construction as needed by supervision.

Aviation Engineering Intern – Summer 2027 (Houston, TX)

AtkinsRéalis is seeking an Aviation Engineering Intern – Summer 2027 to join our Houston, TX office. Your Role Participate in focused training, team meetings and present notes or results. Expect to receive coaching and mentoring to enable you to complete assignments or projects to develop your skillset. Collaborating alongside experienced engineers to assist in various operations production of engineering drawings for airport and airport-related civil engineering projects including runways, taxiways, aprons, roadways, parking lots, and supporting infrastructure. Research project site conditions, and/or regulatory agency specifications or regulations. Perform field observations of construction where appropriate. Perform other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.

About You

EXPERIENCE: No experience is generally required if accepted into an Associate's or Bachelor's degree program in a related technical field.

EDUCATION: Must have completed 60 hours towards a civil engineering degree from an ABET accredited program by the start of the internship.

SPECIAL SKILLS: Math skills to perform simple calculations; willingness to learn. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation (preferred).

Additional Information

Expected compensation range is between $25 - $31 hourly depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
