Job summary

At AtkinsRéalis in Atlanta, GA, a Water Resources Engineering Intern will assist with CAD drawings and layouts, and perform hydrologic and hydraulic calculations for transportation and drainage projects.

You will contribute to technical memos, reports, and project documentation while supporting the production and quality control of construction plans for client submittals. The internship includes mentorship through Explore and a competitive hourly wage.

Qualifications

• 60 hours toward civil/environmental engineering degree from ABET program by Summer 2027.
• Currently pursuing Civil or Environmental Engineering as part of an undergraduate program.
• No prior work experience required for internship eligibility.

Responsibilities

Job Description Overview AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Water Resources Engineering Intern to join our Atlanta, GA office. Your Role Assist with the development and updating of engineering drawings and layouts using CAD software to support transportation and drainage design projects. Assist with performing hydrologic, hydraulic, and other engineering calculations using established procedures and software tools. Assist with preparation of technical memoranda, reports, quantity calculations, and supporting project documentation. Assist in the production and quality control review of construction plans, specifications, and other deliverables for client submittals.

About You

EXPERIENCE: No experience is required if accepted into an Associate's or Bachelor's degree program in a Civil or Environmental Engineering field.

EDUCATION

Must have completed 60 hours towards a civil or environmental engineering degree from an ABET accredited program by the start of Summer 2027.

SPECIAL SKILLS

Basic computer skills required to enter data into spreadsheets or databases. Math skills to perform simple calculations; willingness to learn. Experience with MicroStation (preferred).
