Job summary

HMB Professional Engineers, LLC is seeking a Water Resources Engineer in Lexington, KY. You’ll design water and wastewater systems, support treatment plant projects, and analyze drainage for safety and efficiency.

The role includes collaboration with contractors and agencies on multi-disciplinary utilities. Qualified candidates have a Civil Engineering degree, PE licensure, 5+ years in public infrastructure, and strong client-management skills.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Civil Engineering required.
• Registration as a licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
• 5+ years of experience in public infrastructure projects related to Water Resources.
• Project and/or Client Management experience is required.
• Ability to guide junior staff on multi-discipline water/wastewater projects.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication; strong time management.

Responsibilities

• Design systems to transport drinking water and/or wastewater, including pumping and storage.
• Assist senior staff in design of water/wastewater treatment plant projects.
• Review drainage systems for stormwater or floodplains to safeguard the ecosystem and public.
• Assess need for water/wastewater treatment systems based on population/development.
• Analyze water/wastewater treatment technologies and recommend effective methods.
• Design and develop specifications for pumping and force main systems.
• Collaborate with contractors and government agencies on projects.
• Ensure design/compliance with local, state, and federal guidelines.
