Job summary

Halff seeks a Graduate Engineer I, Water Resources in Austin, TX, welcoming December 2026 or May 2027 graduates. You will support water resources design, flood risk planning, and stormwater infrastructure projects for municipalities and developers, collaborating with internal and client teams to deliver cost-effective, sustainable solutions.

You will conduct hydrologic/hydraulic modeling, assist in master drainage planning, and prepare technical documents.

Qualifications

0-3 years in water resources/public works; experience in channels design, storm drain analysis and design, watershed modeling, hydrologic/hydraulic modeling, and master drainage planning.
New grads encouraged to apply; Bachelor's or Master's in Civil or Environmental Engineering or ABET accredited equivalent degree.
Must have passed FE exam or plan to obtain before start date, with a goal of Texas EIT license.
Experience with HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, ArcGIS Pro; familiarity with XP-SWMM, InfoWorks ICM.
Strong written and verbal communication skills; proactive, team-oriented, quality-focused.

Responsibilities

Support project teams in the design and analysis of water resources design projects.
Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and analysis.
Assist in developing master drainage plans.
Prepare and review engineering documents and reports.
Prepare and review plans, specifications and bid documents.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project objectives.
