Job summary

CME Associates is seeking a Water Resources Engineer to join the HMB team in a hybrid role across KY and nearby states. You will design water/wastewater systems, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with public agencies on multi‑discipline projects.

The ideal candidate has a PE license, 5+ years in water resources, and strong project management and communication skills. A hybrid schedule and competitive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Civil Engineering required.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) registration required.
• 5+ years of experience in water resources/public infrastructure projects.
• Experience designing water treatment plants preferred.
• Strong project/client management experience.
• Ability to guide junior staff on multi-discipline projects.
• Proficiency in MS Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Design systems to transport drinking water and/or wastewater, including pumping and storage projects.
• Assist senior design staff in design of water and/or wastewater treatment plant projects.
• Review drainage systems for storm water or floodplains to ensure safety.
• Assess needs for drinking water and/or wastewater systems; conduct feasibility studies.
• Analyze water/wastewater treatment technologies and recommend methods.
• Design and develop specifications for pumping and force main systems.
• Collaborate with contractors and government agencies on projects.
• Ensure design compliance with local, state, and federal guidelines.
• Prepare written technical reports and provide technical support on water resources issues.
• Conduct cost-benefit analyses for assigned projects.
• Align with marketing on RFPs, presentations and scoping.
